Franziska Spring
Franziska Spring is a visiting scholar working with Kurt Squire. She is also
a doctoral student (in her last year) of the Educational Engineering Lab
at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. She holds an MSc in Computer Science
from the University of Zurich in Switzerland.
Coming from the field of computer science, she completed diverse
coursework in psychology and educational technology in Switzerland and at
the University of Lund in Sweden in order to better understand the
interdisciplinary field of games and learning.
Her first favorite games were Days of the Tentacle and the Monkey Island series. Since then, her
taste in games shifted a little more to role-playing games like World of
Warcraft and car racing games or strategy games.
Her research interests concern learning behavior in games, dynamic adjustments of games for
learning and generally innovative technologies that enhance the learning
experience in a game-based environment.
Currently she works on a strategy and simulation game "Hortus" to investigate playing and learning behavio
