The hardware keeps the whole system running on this device just like any other computer equipment. As soon as you open this graphics amplifier you will see the PCIe board, ATX supply, I/O board, and 2 PCIe power cables. So basically, everything is right in front of you to manage
The board (main) has two PCIe boards. The placement is very statistical for the right usage. Each of them is in reverse order for the USB expansion and proprietary connector and is a PCIe slot. The other slot is a PCIe x16 slot and is perfect for full graphics.
The Alienware I/O powers this device and there is no power switch on this device.
Finally, there is a fan of this device. Just like any other system, this system needs constant ventilation and cooling down. Hence, the fan provides direct air from the front to the back. However, the fan is pretty loud for a device like this.
Technology
Alienware is one of the first companies that produce external graphics enclosures. This was a relatively new idea in the market that is why everybody ran to make the best out of this new device.
However, Alienware proved that they are the ones with the original idea and they will dominate the market. The PCIe over thunderbolt connect is the fastest connection and makes for easy connectivity.
What makes Alienware went ahead!
Their creation of the proprietary PCIe connection and port for their computing systems shook the world. This connection gives a speed of x4 PCIe 3.0 and the company claims that it is faster than the Thunderbolt eGPU.
Power
Since this is a graphics amplifying system, it is important to see what kind of graphic cards it supports. We were very impressed as we read about the graphics card power.
It seems that Alienware adds full force to the amplifier so that there is no room for anything else that you might in this system. There is a 460 watts internal power supply.
Had there been a lower power supply, the bigger graphic cards would not support the system and give you the ideal results. In fact, they would not even run on the screen.
However, with 460 watts of power supply advanced graphics cards run on this system without any fault. They are also safe and protected with this power.
As mentioned earlier, the foundation of gaming is technology. Technology keeps evolving and so do the gaming graphics cards. The accessible design and the high power allow you to update your graphics card as you go.

The Alienware logo that is prominent on the device is a light-up logo. Since the device does not have any color it is a pleasant surprise that the logo is light up. This logo also supports AlienFX possibilities.
