Beginning with the exterior of this graphics amplifier, you can spot it from space. It is a very bulky, heavy, and big device. There is an evident Alienware logo and the body is exceptionally detailed. It is a fully black exterior with no color whatsoever.
The top cover is easy to open so that you can set the graphic card or have exposure to the interior without any troubles. However, it is still tricky. With the opening style, the latches are slightly hard to release.
Additionally, if you make a place for this to fit, you will definitely take it out to open the cover as it takes that much room.
For a graphic amplifier to have bad connectivity is probably no use for the device anyway. The Alienware Graphics Amplifier comes rich in connectivity features. It deems perfect to make your graphics suitable for widescreen or full-length desktop graphics.
To connect to Alienware notebooks, or LCDs, or even other screens there is a simple cord. Nothing extra, just a simple cord! However, you will have to manually fix the settings to run it on other screens in some instances.
The PCI Express graphics card connection allows the system to give off easy connectivity and better results.
Additionally, there are four USB 3.0 ports. These ports connect as soon as you connect this amplifier to a running system. The four ports allow you to additionally connect virtually anything you want; including charging your phone.
What’re the most amazing features in terms of connectivity? It’s Versatility.
The Alienware Graphics Amplifier is able to connect up to three power displays at one time. This feature allows laptop gamers, who want portability, to easily get a desktop widescreen experience.
Hence, you do not have to switch from your gaming laptop to a desktop bulky system just so you can enjoy the gaming widescreen experience. In fact, this graphics amplifying device might even give you a better experience than desktop systems may.
The hardware keeps the whole system running on this device just like any other computer equipment. As soon as you open this graphics amplifier you will see the PCIe board, ATX supply, I/O board, and 2 PCIe power cables. So basically, everything is right in front of you to manage
The board (main) has two PCIe boards. The placement is very statistical for the right usage. Each of them is in reverse order for the USB expansion and proprietary connector and is a PCIe slot. The other slot is a PCIe x16 slot and is perfect for full graphics.
The Alienware I/O powers this device and there is no power switch on this device.
Finally, there is a fan of this device. Just like any other system, this system needs constant ventilation and cooling down. Hence, the fan provides direct air from the front to the back. However, the fan is pretty loud for a device like this.
Alienware is one of the first companies that produce external graphics enclosures. This was a relatively new idea in the market that is why everybody ran to make the best out of this new device.
However, Alienware proved that they are the ones with the original idea and they will dominate the market. The PCIe over thunderbolt connect is the fastest connection and makes for easy connectivity.
What makes Alienware went ahead!
Their creation of the proprietary PCIe connection and port for their computing systems shook the world. This connection gives a speed of x4 PCIe 3.0 and the company claims that it is faster than the Thunderbolt eGPU.
Since this is a graphics amplifying system, it is important to see what kind of graphic cards it supports. We were very impressed as we read about the graphics card power.
It seems that Alienware adds full force to the amplifier so that there is no room for anything else that you might in this system. There is a 460 watts internal power supply.
Had there been a lower power supply, the bigger graphic cards would not support the system and give you the ideal results. In fact, they would not even run on the screen.
However, with 460 watts of power supply advanced graphics cards run on this system without any fault. They are also safe and protected with this power.
As mentioned earlier, the foundation of gaming is technology. Technology keeps evolving and so do the gaming graphics cards. The accessible design and the high power allow you to update your graphics card as you go.
It is important for gamers to have at least some additional features. The Alienware Graphics Amplifier does not leave behind this factor and gives you enhancement features.
The Alienware logo that is prominent on the device is a light-up logo. Since the device does not have any color it is a pleasant surprise that the logo is light up. This logo also supports AlienFX possibilities.
Additionally, there are customizable morph lights that switch from color to color. These lights help your system glow and stand out.
Moreover, the Alienware command center allows you to simply set the lighting themes according to your preference and you are good to go.
